It turns out that the 19-year old young lady was a former neighbor who, unfortunately, made a very bad decision on Sunday night. Her decision to drive after drinking has put her entire future at risk. She had plans to complete college, attend nursing school, and work in the medical field. Now, more than likely, she may receive jail time or probation, she may not be able to drive for awhile, she may need to find a different career, and she will have huge legal, insurance, and financial bills.
We are very thankful that no one was hurt in this accident, including the young lady. While we have the hassle of getting a rental, fixing our car, and getting insurance to pick up the tab, our hassle will be nothing compared to the consequences that the young lady will be dealing with for a very long time.
Last night at about 9:30 a drunk lady side swiped our car (it was parked) swerved to the other lane and then hit the back of a neighbor’s car. Her car was totaled! Our car needs a new axle, new drivers door, new side door, and the section in the front needs to be replaced! Everyone called 911. There were 5 police cars, 1 paramedic, and 1 ambulance. Today my dad is going through insurance. So we will see what happens next!
On Saturday a water pipe leading to the washer broke and water was shooting up into the air! We didn’t notice it until Jordan saw it coming under the utility room door. So Jordan got mom and asked her what it was so she opened the door and saw a waterfall (It was a hot waterfall, seriously). So my mom told me to turn off the water luckily i knew where it was because my dad turned of the water a couple weeks before and i watched him. Our floors were a mess and water was everywhere. But every thing got dryed. And for the most part everything is fixed.
