Mr. Benjamin’s Party

Monday night was the first “party” at Mr. Benjamin’s. The kids had to dress up, and the boys had to wear a tie and a sweater or sports coat. The kids had to dance more and parents were encouraged to walk right up to their kids in the middle of the dance floor and take photos. Mr. Benjamin referred to our cameras as “Parental Tools of Embarrassment”. He also explained to the kids how to properly pose for a photo. They were not allowed to duck, turn away, or let go of each other. And all were required to smile. He did a great job of explaining to them why these pictures would be important to them in a few years.

Junior Cotillion

On Monday i went to a junior cotillion. Then Mr. Benjamen talked about what we would do and what he expects. Then came the horror!!! He said we had to DANCE with a girl. We had to go to them and say “May i please have this dance?.” They had to say “yes, thank-you.” I picked a girl named Jermey. I picked a short person. That was weird!!!
